SABBATH SUNDAY
AT HOPE CITY
Sabbath Sunday is an intentional pause, a set-apart day for our church family to rest, reflect, and re-center our hearts on the Lord. In a culture that constantly pushes us to hurry, produce, and perform, Sabbath invites us to stop and remember that God is our provider, our strength, and our source of peace.
On Sabbath Sunday, we step out of our normal rhythms to create space for worship, renewal, and trust. This is not about doing more, but about receiving and resting in God’s presence, delighting in what He has already done, and allowing our souls to be replenished.
On this page, you’ll hear a short teaching from our Pastors explaining the heart behind Sabbath Sunday and how we practice it as a church. You’ll also find a Sabbath Sunday Guide with simple, practical ways to observe Sabbath — whether individually, as a family, or in community.
Our prayer is that Sabbath Sunday helps you slow down, breathe deeply, and encounter the grace of God in a fresh and meaningful way.
A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM PASTORS
JOSH AND WENDY NEEL
we’d love to connect
with you
Just like on a normal Sunday morning, we want to make space for connection — because you matter to us.
Whether this is your first time with Hope City or you’ve been part of our church family for years, we’d love to hear from you. This is a simple way to let us know you were here, share what God is doing in your life, or tell us how we can walk alongside you in this season.
If you’re ready to take a next step — learning more about following Jesus, getting connected, or simply needing prayer — this is the place.

Generosity on the sabbath
Sabbath is our reminder that everything we have comes from God. As we rest in Him, generosity becomes a natural response—carrying the love of Jesus into our city. Click below to give.
where Rest Meets Hope
We hope this Sabbath Sunday has invited you into rest, renewed your heart, and reminded you that God is our source. As you go from this place of slowing and centering, carry this truth with you:
”Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28
As you step into your week, may the quiet confidence of Christ go with you, and may the peace of God guard your heart and mind in Him. Thank you for being part of Sabbath Sunday — we look forward to walking with you as a community of believers, resting, growing, and following Jesus together.
